Altec Stonehenge V cabinets

I ordered a pair on eBay.
They came in with no internal bracing or baffles.
Mdf with walnut veneer.
Will these be ok with no bracing /or baffles.
I am concerned about this as most I see have some sort of bracing.

He seems to build lots of altec cabs.

Also,
What type of insulation should I use on inside. I was thinking fiberglass on bottom, top, sides, and back. 3" thick. Is that too much?

I guess he added none since the plans haven't been published AFAIK. Surprised he didn't just do use his 620's as a guideline, so do this if you want to keep it ~ Altec engineered in concept. Use 3/4" no-void [BB, etc.] plywood on edge or lumber, not MDF, unless you choose to use either a couple of 'window' braces or full height 'X' braces with a notch to support the driver.

Damping is always to 'taste' for a DIYer, but lining just the top, one wall and back with 1" acoustic fiberglass insulation [O-C 703 nowadays] or similar BW absorption material was the norm for Altec and has proven to work well in many of my builds whether BR, TL, etc..

He's probably using the plans I drew out and have shared with a few folks who promised not to give them out to someone else....oh well, that's the way it goes.

My guess is he thinks the MDF is enough to forego the bracing I put in the drawings, and the insulation. Not a bright move, IMHO.

Maybe, but he can scale close enough off pics to get an overall size, baffle layout and since he's added no bracing vs some other Altec cabs where drawings are available in the library implies that no one has shared the plans, or at least they haven't filtered out into the 'wild' yet.

The kicker on those cabinets is the speaker height from the floor, the cabinet tuning, and the bracing: if you get those right (along with proper dampening), they sound KILLER!
